How it works

When someone posts one.

There is no standing week. A run is on when a member writes the time, the place, and roughly how far. Cancellations go on the orange line at the top of the site, and on the members' noticeboard.

The forum

Post it

Join, then use the Runs board. Say when you can get out, where to meet, and whether it is a short one or a longer one. Other people reply if they are coming.

On the night

One start, three paces

Wanderers can take a shorter loop, with walking built in. Steady and Striders can go further. Corners are waits. About 5 km and about 8 km are the usual ideas, not a measured course.

If you fancy it

Cleethorpes parkrun

Their 5 km at 9:00 on Saturdays, not ours. Register free at parkrun.org.uk/cleethorpes and bring a barcode. If people want to go together, that is a forum post, not a club fixture. If they cancel, we do not invent a race.

Places

Somewhere easy to find

The pavement outside Centre4, 17A Wootton Road, DN33 1HE, is an easy landmark. Bradley Woods car park, off Bradley Road, is the woods option. Neither is a weekly meet. The centre does not run the group.

Bring

Trainers you have already worn, water if you want it, a light or a pale jacket when it is dark, and a way home. We do not carry a club first-aid kit. Bring what you would bring if you were out on your own.

Weather

We run in rain. We call it off for ice, lightning, or a storm. The decision goes on the orange banner and the noticeboard. If you are unsure, look there before you leave the house.

After

Tea is whoever is open, and only if people fancy it. Nobody is expected to buy a round, and nobody is expected to stay.
